Quick Tips for Weeknight Meals
Make the Dinner Hour Feel Less Like Rush Hour!
These tips will help you pull together amazing dinners for the whole family in record time.
Plan Ahead Got mor time to cook on the weekend? Use it to make dishes that can be used in multiple recipes, whether it’s a bit cut of meat or just cooked vegetables & quinoa. What about when your weekend is just as packed as the weekdays? Take just 10 minutes or so to inventory your fridge and plan out your meals for the week, and identify small do-ahead steps that you can knock out in advance.
S TOCK YOUR PA N T R Y With a well-stocked pantry, you’ll always have tomorrow’s meal in the making. Here’s a list of pantry must-haves: spices, beans, lentils, rice, quinoa, potatoes, sweet potatoes, broth, garlic, onion, nuts, seeds, olives, dried fruits, tomato pure/paste, coconut & extra virgin olive oil, vinegars, fish sauce, white and red wine. EMBRAC E L E F TOV E R S You can incorporate leftovers in salads, soups, hashes and easy savory tarts. On weekends, I like to double the recipes and have enough for leftovers during the week or freeze for later. Stock your freezer with a few dishes that freeze and defrost easily, so that all you have to do on the most hectic nights is reheat.
